Brilliant program. If the beeb do this on all the canals and in all the seasons I can sell our narrowboat and just tune in wherever we want to be. Nice smell of bacon butties coming from kitchen. I can't do them cos I'm keeping a lookout.

Maybe its because he's a northerner but Guy Martin is in my mind the best English rider of today, fingers crossed that he can actually win a class this year. I think he's been spoiled b doing all the tv series though.

he's got brand new bikes for this year....faster ones too......his old ones were 3 years old..............so might take that top spot with any luck.

Interestingly Dunlops walked from Yamaha , and is now BMW powered the same as Martin now . We wait to see who comes out on top .

First death of this years TT-Frenchman Frank Petricola in practice for the races. While you have sympathy for his family the bigger question has to be asked, why in Gods name did the organisers allow him to race?

This racer had suffered life threatening head injuries and multiple fractures after an accident at last years NW200 races. With injuries like that he shouldn't have his licence back yet never mind being given a chance to race.

I thoroughly enjoyed this last night - some great shots. However, what most impressed me was the use of original footage and the attention to detail. They talk about HMS Lion, we see HMS Lion, for example - someone did their research!

It's a bit edited (time available?) when it comes to the detail of the fleet actions, but if this is what the BBC can do with regard to WW1 naval history then I am ready to be impressed in May next year.

Yes, pretty good, not too many obvious mistakes either. The photo purportedly showing Lion damaged at the Dogger Bank was actually the hit on Q turret at Jutland.
