Re above, about 25 years ago I went to see professional model boat maker Malcolm Darch in Salcombe, I arrived by yacht as well. He was making a mega yacht well actually two mega yachts, both the same size. They had been commissioned by the owner one was to be a static model in a case and be displayed in the yacht, the other a radio controlled one.
Malcolm went to extreme lengths with his modelling even having cast propellers identical to the originals.
Here I had one of my first regrets. He offered me a restoration he had taken on of a Bassett-lowke cargo boat, I thought there was maybe not enough room in the boat to transport it and I turned it down. We were in a Moody 425 (42.5 feet loa) and as it sleeps 7 and there were three of us there must have been loads of room! (Moody boats, think Jaguar / Bentley cars).
Never mind!
regards from Oz.
