Last of the Battleships: The Iowa Class

Absolutely amazing to walk on the USS Missouri [BB63] in her Commissioned [Iowa] Class state when she sailed to Australia representing the US at our RAN 75th Centenary

She berthed just metres from my office in the Above Water Weapons building

The anti-nuclear protesters in their rubber duckies attempted to cross Missouri's bow......... the visiting HMS Illustrious was berthed just down at the Loo........ & a Chopper pilot from Illustrious flew over the protesters & blew then away toward the Harbour bridge
