Engle 1X D2
« on: July 02, 2008, 10:15:35 pm »

I have now also joined the dark side after giving the nice man at Westbourne a few pound notes.

I smuggled it past the other half by buying an ebay Gato, and making a big fuss off how cheap etc etc etc . Then when the Engle arrived she added two and two together in her own sweet way, and assumed it was the ebay model.

Result.

Ive read the instructions a few times, and even started cutting slots in the hull.
A bit of panel detail on the hull would have been nice, otherwise very impressive mouldings.

regards
Rob

Nice choice, not one of the more common Engel boats. Pics of what you get?  ;)

Hi Rob
I have built one of these boats. Nightmaresville!
Whatever you do, fully fit the boats internals BEFORE you fit the WTC top.
If I can be of any help contact me.

well, Bulgaria has been and gone , and im back on the slot cutting...... nearly done . (GRP and slots in a hot shed on the hottest day this year is not recommended) ( though a holiday at Sunny Beach in Bulgaria is)

I will get some pics sorted.

as an aside............. me being a rivetcounter.... has anyone got a decent pic of the deck or a Type 9D2 ?
was it an elongated 9C deck?
it cannot be gert long planks as per the kit ( i can see that from the few pics ive found)pics or drawings gratefully accepted and paid for.

there has been an identical  kit on ebay twice now , that didnt reach the £450 reserve !
