Graupner kit, builder required
« on: August 14, 2006, 10:30:44 pm »

I have a Graupner Jules Verne kit which I have started but isn't gonna get finnished, ever! I just have no time these days. so I'm looking for somebody who can complete the build. The hull has been primed and prepared, some of the running gear has been installed and that's about it.  I'm in the Sutton Coldfield area nr Lichfield (South Staffs) and hoping to find someone who isn't too far away who can produce a good finish and end result.
If interested please send me an e-mail,

Regards

Try contacting ''THEMODELDOCK.CO.UK'' Looking at his website, i would say his build quality is very good indeed.

Hope this might help you!

its always a difficult area pricing of builds many have the time or are not in to much of a rush to do the job themselves but if you don’t have the time yes some can be expensive I would say the model dock is quite reasonable both model slipway and ourselves recommend him but bear in mind its a job its not someone doing a few hours a week, so just as an example if a quote of 500 pops up allow £5 an hour which is I think below minimum wage, that’s 100 hours then which can soon be used up in building a kit and he does include all the glues and paint which you will spend the best part of at least £50.00 on. I don’t know if he has given you a quote but if you work it out in hours its not expensive at all.  Yes the actual amount may seem a lot
