Thanks Barrie,

Got it and now clear how it works, also thanks Dicky.

Another stupid question :embarrassed: I have only only flown R/C aircraft so boats are very new to me what stick should I have the throttle on  ??? should it be on the throttle stick which is on the ratchet or should it be on the self centering sticks  ::)

Throttle is generally on the left hand stick, rudder on the right

bit of an oddball reply because it would depend on what mode transmitters are either mode 1 or 2? my transmitter is Mode 2 so throttle on the left, what I need to know it if the forward/reverse is on my throttle stick is it right to just move the stick to the correct speed and leave along or hold the speed in position with a self centreing stick. ???

Both my sticks are self centreing. Throttle up and down and rudder left and right.  O0

On my transmitter I am able to change stick modes but your question as to where your stick should be

if you like ratchet sticks, then I would have neutral in the center of the travel this would enable a reverse from the ESC

As for which side your throttle should be on that would be up to you,   what ever is most comfortable or even easiest for you to operate.

I have twin screw or twin VS tugs so both my sticks are throttles, though I can mix to one stick (either side) so that the tugs act as single screws and my free hand gets to operate winch or other equipment
