Dear All,

I have tried to remember who raised this subject but can't! - neither can I find ref. to it now. I remember they related an instance in the wheelhouse of a ship and where it went afterwards. There were a few comms. on the matter and the subject dissapeared quite quickly... bit like ball lightening!

Anyway, jesting aside, below are a couple of professional articles on the matter. I know someone within TORRO, and I should have thought about looking here sooner.

It was me again....when I was a cadet on the "Ocean" boat that had been renamed "Bennevis" back in the late 1950s. Still quite a vivid memory. BY.

Good, pleased it was you. You go to so much effort to keep us entertained with your reminisces that I am glad I have been able to do at least a little something in return. I remember it was said at the time that some "might not believe this", but, as I knew anyway, it is fact and these things do exists... strange things!

Dear Bryan,

You might find the Utube link below interesting. There are some curious things shown here, and whilst one or two may be 'dubious', in the main, and after studying them, most look to be authentic. There is one partic. one of a elec. pole glowing like a cross, and I am convinced this is St Elmo's fire, though the poster does not realise what he saw... so this tends to confirm to me that it is authentic. Some of the ball lightning entries are certainly very curious indeed, and would not be that easy to fake. If you follow on the search for lightning in general there are some remarkable entries... again, one or two are dubious, but most are startlingly genuine!
