Come on you lot, confess, what did you waste money on that you found to be totally useless and a waste of time/effort?

For me it was two miniature planes - badly made, not square and blades that refuse to even approach sharp!

Hi boatmadman,

I did not actually buy this item, but I did waste a lot of time effort and money on it.

MY FIRST WIFE

The replacement (second wife) has proved to be a much better version.

Exercise equipment for the wife, so she could lose a little weight and keep herslf fit. Not just one but three seperate items including the cycle machine, which has turned out to be a very ugly ornament.........NEVER USED::::::::Useless.

30 years of cigarettes.

I used to smoke between 60-80 per day. At todays prices that wouldn't be a habit, that would be a mortgage.

Alligator saw.

Worse tool I ever bought.

The alligator wouldn't keep still while I was sawing it!  :D

Ah! That's why the saw is useless.

Thanks, Malcolm.

Have to say my house.

Been in here about 10 months now, and tomorrow it goes back on the market. Even with the hit that I'll take with the house prices having fallen, it'll still work out cheaper to move to a different house.     :'(

Yep - goat is coming.

Living in york, the goat has caused a few problems. There is some guild that is big here which built a lot of houses over the years and they put all sorts of weird cluases in the deeds like not being allowed goats, chickens or "more than 6 ducks".

There was one house we really liked, but the goat would have had to go to the butchers as it had those cluases in the deeds, so after many tears, I gave in and got a different one.   >:( >:( >:(

The house we're going to has a huge and desolate back garden - it's not been maintained fro a couple of years, so the goat is going to have a grand old time sorting that out! y spring he will have eaten much of it down, and I can get on with restoring the garden. Saves me having to hack about in it all!

It's actually worked out OK with the house buying etc. Mortgages etc have been really easy to sort out. It would seem that as long as your earning and have a good credit history, and money for a deposit, it's *easier* now to get a mortage than it was at the hieght of the boom. Took me less than 48 hours to go from looking at prices on the net to having it completely arranged.

Expensive computer programmes that promised to change my life but only succeeded in making me feel stupid. In that respect then I guess the adverts were correct.

Tried to cut sheet of chipboard using that ruddy useless cheapo circular power saw I bought a while back... total pants!! It's got a mind of its own and wanders off all over the place... should have spent out on a proper one. Much swearing accompanying the sound of cheap saw whistling through the air as it traverses the garden on its way to the bin!

One off job Colin, did outside in a stiff breeze, the bin was distant but reachable from the site of cutting! O0

I'd have to go along with wife numbers 1 and 2. Cost me more money between them than any sub I've ever built. Girlfriend is much much cheaper to run, she has her own house as well....see where I'm going with this?

Pets and the wife wanted,

1 x African Grey Parrot: £250 plus cage. Just sqwarks and says various anoying words. Usually when I'm watching TV.

1 x Boxer/Mastiff cross: £50 plus chewed carpet and lose of sleep letting it out in the middle of the night. Now have to replace carpet with laminate and mug here is fitting it.

1 x ferrit: £10 plus £10 cage. Smelly thing which bit me. Now gone (thankfully)

2 x Prescription charges: £14+, found I have to go on Beta Blockers for the migraines I get. List of poosible side effects, I think I'd be better off with the migraines!
