Electronics help....
« on: July 27, 2008, 06:09:03 pm »

I am building a r/c duck with 'quacks' and that is my problem..I have down loaded 'quacks' to a MP3 player and can hear them via the 'headphones' but I want them though a small speaker. I have a small Maplin Mylar speaker and can just hear them on the speaker when wired direct but only just. I then made a Maplin 2amp amplifier but get nothing. I have double checked the build and its ok. Its beyond my ability to check each component and it has the required in/out and battery feed, but to no avail... any help welcomed.  I don't have the space for a regular MP3 add-on speaker though I might just be able to shoehorn in one of the Nokia 'finger' speakers, but would it work !!!

Very basic basics.
When switching on, do you get a click from the speaker?
If yes, then the power to the amp is OK and the connection to the speaker is OK.
Is there a link to the circuit you used on the Maplin site?
MP3 players are generally stereo, how is the output from the MP3 connected to the input of the amp?  It could make a difference.
