I have just acquired a Zebra 4 FM PRO Radio set, Part no HF 49/40  it has a 5ch receiver ZR-106SF.  Can anyone tell me if it has BEC I can find nothing in the instructions. Would it do any damage if I tried it on BEC

Even if a receiver has a BEC logo on it, I have yet to find a manufacturer who actually says what they mean, and what the performance of their BEC is.
Any RX intended for use with a separate RX battery will also work with a BEC, either a separate item, or one built into an ESC.  Have a look at Ghosts diagrams at the top of this section.

Thanks for the reply malcolmfrary.  I didn't know that any receiver could be used with an ESC that had BEC.  :embarrassed:

So just to make sure I have understood you correctly.

My 4 ch setup would be 3 servos, a Viper Marine ESC and no receiver battery. The receiver taking it's power from the main battery through the ESC

Thanks again Alan
