THE EAGLE HAS LANDED!

I mean...Red October has arrived safely here in Germany. (Thx to Roger)
I have some plans with it, but I will take some pictures first and continue the tale of 'Red O" then...

It was spotted going over the border by a film crew , they were going to make a movie but Mr. Connery was otherwise engaged. {-)

Don't know if the man had something to do with S.P.E.C.T.R.E.
An old 2CV car with several bullet-hits all over came to a halt with squeaking tires at my house. A weired looking man with an eyepatch rushed out of the car, mumbled something like "they are after me...." Handed me the parcel and vanished in his car. "Ruuuun...hiiide....ruuun awaaaay..." he yelled - and left me alone with this mysterious box.

When I opened it, the now famous "Red O" greeted me. No bullet wounds here...no sign if any seafights. All in tiptop condition.
I now have to prepare the journey with my delicate cargo to some mysterious places all over Germany...

@ Aurigarius
If you have Red October up until April, you will have to bring it to the Intermodelbau in Dortmund and sail it on the Pond in Hall 5

Red O is packed and ready to go with me to the Nuremberg Toy fair, where I am working during that time. I hope I can place her somewhere at that booth - together with my Kit-Springer. If anyone is interested. I am at booth No. F-111 in hall 7A. Companies name is AMEWI. Dealer enquiries welcome  O0

If all goes well I will post the first picture from there in this thread soon. I'm off at 5 a.m. tomorrow. I'll keep you posted.  ok2

Yes, the signs saying that are everywhere. But there are so many cameras (and photo-handys) around there every year...I think they've given up on that. ;)
If you come around Friday, you can also meet Torsten Hill there, who is there with me until Saturday I think.
See you there.

A shot with Red O and the crew at the front entrance where the big posters are would be good as well as any you get with a spy-cameras. If Xtian can do it in a top secret French naval establishment......!

What we really need is a trackiing map.  Any IT gurus up for the job?:D    So far it has been to Scotland, England, Wales, France,Austria, Germany, Switzerland (more than twice at some countries)   Anybody that wants to help it on it`s way to somewhere should contact me here on Mayhem, open to all offers. Trying to do it on the cheap or free. Last resort post <:(.  Main purpose is pictures at suitable "national" locations, Eiffel Tower, on the QE2, Leaning Tower of Domino`s,  Greek Islands ( me please !) Taj Mahal (Me ?)  Great Wall of China (me again..pleeeeze !)  Where can a toy boat not go ?

Sadly no,  just one man`s interpretation of the Springer rule that anything above the deck can be what you like.   I`m sure someone will try it one day !  Tests have been carried out in remote loch in the far north with a Scottish version, submerging test successful, surfacing needs more work  >:-o {-)

Ah...I have that problem, the original Deep Quest submerged perfectly, a joy to behold it was. Never saw the b*****y thing again!!!  >>:-(  <:(

Good luck with RO's escapades...

The map is made as arrow5 suggested, the address is:

http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF&msa=0&msid=115937270120865122444.00047eecfbf83d5434eab

You all should be able to edit it. I think you must have a google account, but if you have postcodes of where it's been I'll put them on.

I, for one, cannot edit the map.

The marker relating to me needs to be at Chantonnay, 85110. West of A83.

Red O. also visited the Sub Pens at St Nazaire.
