Clearer signal from our agent in Brest "Le Breton". Red Oktober on board French submarine in the ex-U boat pens. The tour continues to another French location  "toot sweet" . Probably southwards....hint %)
At last we get to see "Red Jacket`s" face.  However being the master of disguise we know the Suerte won`t catch him.  The submarine is  "Ouessant".

Funny how "jerry building" got a bad name. My pa-in-law said the brit petrol cans were useless in the desert - they split their soldered seams all the time. What you needed were good old Jerry cans.

I am not sure Jerry building has anything to do with the Germans.

It is just about houses thrown up quickly for a quick profit. There was a boom for this in the 1930s, where a house was thrown up in less than a week. Mostly timber framed.

But back n topic.
Good to see the Red October doing the rounds.

Hello

Red Oktober is back to business !

Tomorow is the first french models exhibition at Châteaulin and Red Oktober will be there.  After Châteaulin Red Oktober will go to St Nazaire and then will be in the hand of Roger in France ... To be continue.

Today I've installed RC onboard and made a try on Pors Bihan.

Pors Bihan means Little Harbour (Breton Celtic language) this the name of my personnal pond.

From my office :

Red Oktober is inside de porthole

With the porthole openned

From outside  but this part of Pors Bihan is under a roof

And sailing

One of the "normal" users of Pors Bihan a 1,76 meter / 50kg supply.

Pors Bihan at night.

So, this week-end some pics of Red Oktober at Châteaulin exibition and I hope to see her during the week in Vendée !

Best regards

Xtian

Bravo Xtian ! We all want to see your Port Revel in miniature in daylight. What is the water ? A pond or a larger lake ?  a ship modeller`s dream..your own private dock and home all in one.  You must hold the record in the  "how far do you have to go to sail" stakes, looks like you open a door and you are there !  Care to show us some more details of the supply vessel, nice looking large model.   We all look forward to seeing Red O and some more models  at the show.  Best regards , Duncan. :-))

Right now it is about 50 degrees (11.1 c) and clear. We are real happy with the weather, 99.9%of the time it is just rain and no shoveling is required. What were you training in, small boat rough water handling? I think that is what the Coast Guard does its rough water training.  Like I said you have a real nice house.

I'm planning on being in England at the end of August, beginning of September. RO could make a transatlantic voyage at that time if interested.
