Well this is it the replacement for the first Paula 111 that I used to own.used to own I hear you say well Paula Mk 1 god rest her little soul was my first introduction to this wonderfull hobby of ours,is now lying on the bottom of LLanberis Lake in probably 100+ft of water.Poor lass she met her demise at the hands of ODIN he mounted her from behind she could not take his amorous intentions and like any other woman turned over and instead of going to sleep she xxxxxx well SANK.Now enough of the reminiscing lets get on with it,8months down the line i decided at long last to start the replacement that I had bought. The replacement I bought off Ebay it was a partly started kit with the old owner having installed the propshaft, rudder tube and servo tray,so at least I had a start. When I finally got to start assembling the superstructure I found that the Clear plastic wheelhouse had become cracked and unusable so having to reconstruct the latter I have sat down coffee in hand and hatched DA master plan, why not try and super detail this little gem.
What I have in mind is Quite simple ,it's got to be as i am a simple person!!!!
Right fully detail the bridge area, with a proper steering console, seats, chart table instrument panel radio station ect.
Fully functional crane which can lift out buoys,a fully working winch to recover the buoys. This combination can and will be used to put a grappling hook on boats that are too far out in the lake to be pushed back too land, once hooked the winch can be payed out and towing will commence(well thats the theory anyway)
Fully working fire monitor mounted forrad.
working navigation lights and work lights.
Poss working radar.
Now this is going to take time so bear with me,progress so far is as follows
Motor installed with speed controller
Rudder and servo fitted
Gantry fitted and servo for fore and aft movement
Wheelhouse rebuilt using 30 thou plastic card, windows cut out
Floor area of wheelhouse cut out prior to having new floor lowered to allow for modifications
Piccies so far will be added as soon as I have figured the way to download them onto this thread!!!!!!!!!!!
