Good Bye to the QE II
« on: September 12, 2008, 02:03:49 pm »

Photographs of the Cunard ships Queen Mary 2 and Queen Victoria paying there last respects to the QE II before departing Southampton, are available on the Solent Radio Controlled Model Boat Club web site at: http://srcmbc.org.uk/photo_galleries/gi_realships.php .  The photos were taken from the University of Southampton Research Vessel "Callista" which gave us a very close up view of proceedings.  The excursion raised funds for the "Discovery Oceanography" program ( http://www.noc.soton.ac.uk/soes/resources/oceandiscovery/index.html ) which gives school children (and others) a chance of a day trip on the RV Callista to learn about oceanographic research.
