If using 1 ESC a 20 amp should be fine but fuse it at 15 amps.

The new ACTion twin motor ESC and combined mixer is ideal. Im currently using this set up (6v, 4.3ah SLA) in Drumbeat and the ESC wasnt even warm after about 40 minutes use.

I find the biggest speed controller the better and then fuse the motors down . Get a prop stuck in the weeds and you can blow an electronic speed controller easy.
Electronics are only as strong as the weakest link ... you could have everything rated for 30 amps and hook up a 10 amp speed controller, well you know what will blow when you have a problem. I would sooner blow a 10 or 15 amp fuse.
