Julian, what boat, what shafts and what type of pushrods?? Any pics?

             Boat will be a Victor 3 class shaft dia. 4mm, pushrods (linkages) can be to suit the seals  sure the last ones i got were from subtech but there seems to be little on there website now they were the O ring type seals which screwed into the endcap (Although I'm not sure these are suitable for the RCABS-R ballast system) if you can help i would be most gratefull. As for pic's i do have some of one i made about a year ago.

Hi Julian, I think if you managed to get particular types of seals for this type of unit then the best plan would be to contact Dave again. Try giving him a call at Subtech, his number is: 01458 270097.
Although I make waterproof motor glands and pushrod seals, they may not be suitable for your particular unit so best to try and get the correct ones to keep life simple and avoid modifications.

The ones that Francis used to sell were from Norbert Bruggen. You can buy them direct from Norbert if you contact him via his website-

They use an o-ring and in a compression gland configuration.  Norbert can speak good English, and he also takes paypal. Ordered from him a couple of times, and have received the goods within a few days of ordering.

I don't think you can get the Subtech seals at the present.

BTW, I notice you are using a piston tank in your module. Don't use Subtech seals with a cylinder that pressurises inside. This is because they use lip seals, and they push outwards as the pressure increases on the inside.

Bellows work well, or use the seals that Norbert sells.

Just to let you know the SubTech seal do work if you want to have a pressure tank system too, we have an upgrade for them with supporting 'O' rings to stablize the seal face,

but it up to the builder to which he prefers

Fair enough. That must be a fairly recent modification, as I've never seen that advertised before, and Skip used to advise caution against using the seals in an internally pressurised boat. I know some people used to swap the lip seals out for o-rings, but when Norbert's come with them as standard it seemed a bit pointless really.
