Hi, wondered how big a sheet of plastic card you can buy retail wise (or does it not matter) i got some sheets from the club when i was a member many years ago, one quite thick (1.5mm thk) and the others about half the thickness, i would say about the size of a single mattress (1000mm x 1500mm give or take 4" - just trying to fool you there)

And who would be the best supplier?

Tyne Models had some big sheets at Ellesmere, and I think MMM do them also. You could also try SHG - they have small sheets at shows, but I think they do larger ones. You might also be able to get it from a local sign making outfit.

I can't think where but somewhere I have seen 8ft x4ft sheets, but as above SHG seemed to have for sale some large sheets.

Big sheets, I can't even find normal A4 sized sheets!  Anyone recommend a good internet supplier? I have almost given up with google searches!! ::)

A price and minimum quantity limit - especially for transport etc would be great, i would think several sheets would be handy especially one or two 'THICK' ones would be also great, let me know.

I take it some people use one or two particular suppliers for their marine ply?

hi guys my wife got me some plastic card from work,she works as a retail manager and if you look at the promotion posters they hang they are mostly plastic card!! ask for any they are getting rid of as they just throw them away im sure they would give you some.they are white on the back so just turn em white side up or you could end up with some interesting designs especially if theyre from the underwear department( now theres an idea) lol

I can vouch for the guy that FuntimeFrankie is on about - I received some plasticard within three days from ebay seller - Im not sure if he does really large size sheets - will have to check that out.   He isnt half quick on the mark with his delivery though - very good.

I have also bought from this Ebayer  (I think that is that what you call them )

The sizes were A4 and I couldn't get larger from him. 

However, I have been routing around double glazing warehouses and come up with two sheets ( 2mm)  sandwiched with polystyrene.  They gave me some offcuts but I suppose you could buy door size material.

All you have to do is separate them. What a laugh this is.  You end up with the sheets lovely on one side and covered in a unmovable glue on the other.   ( I'll find the chemical to remove it one day)  plus a floor full of polystyrene bits

Still worth it though, enough plastic to build the Titanic eh!!

 i used him too, very good service, - you can get plasticard in 8 by 4 sheets, i used to buy sheets in differing thicknesses from steven webster plastics in St Albans, but that was years ago....you could buy single sheets if you wanted, the delivery charge was reasonable too, but it was about 10 yrs ago !
