Revell Gato
« on: June 20, 2008, 07:26:44 pm »

If you rush to Flea bay, search for Revell Gato............... you will find some at half price or close to it.
I bought mine before posting this tip !

Also Gato and Snowberry kits combined as a cheap deal too.

As he is located in Poole, where I'm on holiday, I have mailed to enquire if I can call to have a look.

Should be fun. ::)

I've got to get the key of the door first.

Never really met an Ebay seller before. I'm never sure they exist.  :D

If I get in, I'll get you a sub.

Your not the only one who has a revell Gato cheap,

i got mine from Model zone in Basingstoke for a nifty £20 bargain seeing as i have everything to make it a surface runner.
Will find time to make it and possibly finish it eventually, got too many unfinished models.

I hope yours goes together better than mine is...the bow section didn't line up with the centre section, none of the panel lines match up anywhere, and as for the rear deck section? It's going to be about as much good as a chocolate fireguard...it will weigh half a ton by the time I've finished applying filler to it.  >>:-(  :'(  :-\

Apart from that...it's a nice kit!

Cheers,

Rich

I scrapped the first one of these I bought, it was just too far warped to go on with. The second one is much better, it's going together well so far, almost ready for internal fitting out now.

Any updates on how you other guys are doing with your builds?

Best thing you can do is to go to www.subpirates.com, register yourself there and then take a look around the Gato section in the build threads, you'll find plenty of information there. There are several ways to prepare the Gato for full r/c operation, and they are all on there...have fun.

There's also www.subcommitte.com there's more Gato information there as well.
