Hi All
HMS Leeds Castle did it always have the same 30mm gun various refs say 40mm and could be fitted with 76mm.

Any detail sets of photos available at any stage of its evolution.

Has it been brolen up, laid up or sold

planning on 1/72 scale long way ahead yet

I spent 3 lovely days on the HMS Leeds Castle on the River Tyne, just before she was taken out of Commission - I am sad to say she was in a bit of a bad state - they had scavanged parts off her to keep her sister ship afloat.

The dummy on the foredeck against the superstructure is the "man overboard practice dummy" weighs about 10 stone, hence near where it will be dropped.

Just a bit of trivia here. That dummy is usually named "oscar", do any of you old salts remember why? Of course, the first correct answer wins. No prize to be awarded, just the satifaction of being called a "Sea Dog".

Hi there,

The guy who served aboard HMS Leeds Castle was Paul from Sirmar.   How do I know this, well...because when I first met Paul - at the time - he was still serving and I was a contractor and on one of the many occasions there was trouble in engine room and I was working with the Makers man from the engine company and that is how Paul and I met.   At that time I didnt realise we would meet much in life through model boating.
