It has been a while
« on: November 10, 2008, 08:16:40 pm »

It has been a while, since someone posted a conversion on this tug/toy,so i'll show you what i've done so far.
It has been ripped to bits, will replace cheap electroncs with real rc,the cabin  has been placed forward, the stacks placed behind, searchlight moved and handrails painted.
The hull is in primer,(waiting to harden) the holes in hull have been sealed.deck removed of plastic and sanded ready for painting.
Any constuctive comments welcome, apologise if pics are too orange,my photography skills are not up to some peoples on here.

Still lots more to do

Hi! I always check the seaport threads as I have one myself, don't always reply though. But please keep on posting, it's always fun to see what people do to these boats. I must say that I think her looks improve when you move the wheelhouse forward like you and some other people have done. Keep up the good work, and good luck!

It was near to me,behind Hilsea bus station, next to the lido.
and agree after conversasion she could do with a little more ballast,
in the stern.
It is salt water as real boats float on,as i have no other option

Great paint job, You even painted the winch! Did leaves get stuck around the propeller?

Yes did find that a bit of problem, took out of water 3 times to clear.
I was more worried about the wind though (and sinking  :} )

Watch out for those screws rusting and stripping.. i had throw out all my screws and connected the deck with DEP Kitchen and Bath Silicone and waterproofed all the holes with it..

Nice one! Hope the hull has no damage from that extreme adventure! How thick was the ice?

Just looking at the color scheme the deck's grayish stands out as very realistic. Great job!
