revell type 7 pics (2 down 1 to go)
« on: October 04, 2006, 11:00:54 am »

Hi, both my dads and my paint jobs complete. Just my brothers' one to do. I know these two are almost exactly the same, but my dad wouldnt back down on having his the same as mine, hopefully I can twist my brothers' arm to have his at least slightly different so they dont all look identical, but i doubt i will be able to. Thing is i've still got to cut out most of the holes on his, and that gets so boring i'd rather stick my finger in my eye and swish my brains around for something else to do :D.

Schiff entdeckte ....-Tauchen .. Tauchen ... Periskop-Tiefe .... Periskop ....

It translates to:Ship spotted....dive..dive...periscope depth....up periscope....ships spotted...unknown destroyer bearing 90 degrees and closing fast! All ahead flank...dive to 150 meter and set to silent running....Depth charge in the water sir.... depth charge in the water sir!

Sorry...but looking at your pictures i just went off one one! ;D

Both are looking great, must urgently finish mine!!!
For the holes, it took me (well, my mate here honestly) just an evening to do them all (I think 3 or 4 hours)
He used a Proxxon to sand the insid of the hull at the place of the holes, till they were opened, en then, with the no 11 blade cleaned them.
Greetz, Johan

Oops, just saw that I said this tip before in your other tread... SORRY!!!

Hi Johan. I just used a hand drill and craft knife. It took a few days but its a method that works for me so i'll probably stick to it.

:) Thanks for the tip anyway, i might experiment with other methods if i decide to do another one in splinter camo. when i dont have to worry about it being my only one.

                               Thanks,
                                         Grant :)
