Any Swedish In Here?
« on: December 07, 2008, 02:46:14 pm »

Due to the rates of exchange in Sweden, I have been trying to find a coóuple of hobby shops in sweden, that has a webshop and sells both radio boat/ship kits and your regular plastic kits.

After an hour of searching I give up!

Any one know of a swedish web shop please let me know.

(And yes it will be worth it, at the moment one swedish krone costs just over half a danish one so half price, plus post.....)

Thanks w3bby, as it happens its still cheaper to buy in from England! Who would of thought. Start price is higher in Sweden, and as you know, postage in sweden ain't cheap!

As an example the schnelboot s100 can be found at the princly sum of £128.63 in Sweden! against £89.99 in the UK The price in Denmark....
....£131.83

Where would you buy yours?

Most of my stuff comes from the UK ;) Postage from the UK is often seems to be cheaper than within Sweden. A few years ago I bought 2 large scale servos from the UK, total cost including postage was less than 1 from a Swedish supplier incluing postage....
Economies of scale are in action, the Swedish market is quite small (same as the Danish I suppose) couple this with moms (VAT) at 25% and the relatively high cost of wages (again similar in Denmark) and you have high prices...

Just not fair is it mate.
Just as long as we keep things inside the EU its not to bad, just dont even think about imports from Asia/USA. Just worked out the rough price of some PE from China. Almost Double after tax and duties!!!
How long you been in Sverige?

Imports are OK if you can get them past Customs  ;) otherwise it is a expensive.
Going on 18 years now, returned to the UK from a 2 year wander around the world with a Swedish girlfriend, nothing for me in the UK so I came over to fish crayfish. Been here ever since.... Language is OK but despite the similarity between Swedish and Danish I speak English when I cross to Helsingör.
How long have you been in Denmark and where are you based? I am in Helsingborg and do most of my boating in Malmö.
