Microwave oven - synchronous motor.
« on: November 19, 2008, 06:47:55 pm »

Would anyone happen to know where I might get a replacement motor for a u-wave oven turntable?
The part number is TYJ50-8AT; specs' are:

4 RPM.
240vac, 4 Watts, 50Hz.

Or maybe one of similar specs', perhaps one I could cobble as a replacement.

Thanks for taking a butcher's.

Just as a thought , what about your local recycling center  the will prob have some dead microwaves that you could have a butchers at , a lot of microwaves are generic so you may find one the same as yours .
I used to remove the turntable motors and rig them up for turning fishing rods when they had been whipped and laqured (keep it clean  <*< )

Martin ,when i used to build the rods with a friend we would use the motors with a cork bung to hold the rod at one end and switch it on then the resin (cant spell laquere it dont look right)would dry evenly on it .
we also converted an electric sewing machine to hold the rod blank's for whipping the rings on using the foot pedal to control the speed , machine was free ,thrown in a skip compared to a commercial unit at over £200.
