Robbe Seawolf
« on: April 14, 2006, 09:07:52 pm »

Hello . I want to build a Robbe Seawolf submarine , but I want to ask some questions to experienced submarine modellers .
Because of I have not enough place to put big submarines (such as Robbe U47 and so on) this model will be the my first and last submarine . Also I will swim it in a 12 meters long , 6 meters width and 1.5 meters depth swimming pool . Is this sizes are enough to swim this model properly ?  Can I convert this model into a static diver ? I found a man in Italy who converted this submarine into a static one with his own creation . Are there any available static diving units for this model ?
Finally , do you suggest this model for a new bee submarine modeler ? I have enough experience on building RC boats .
Thanks for your answers...

Hi there
Here's the address for a sea wolf by atomic subs that's for sale cheap. It's a part completed kit that was returned and would be a great buy in an epoxy kit wolf!

The sub committe site often has these things advertised and it's worth a look.
The other thing I wanted to say was that Steve Neill of subpirates forum has built a seawolf? with a dave welch WTC in it and it's a good little static diver too. I forgot which forum it's in, but when I remember, I'll give you the link. It's very cool! Here's a video clip of it in the pool if you have broadband, you can check it out. I'd die without my broadband now that I'm use to it!!!

I think it was in the RC Groups forum posts from a couple of months back.
Heres the video again and you can always ask Steve for the details anyway. "U812" ia his RCG logo and subpirates too.

Hi,

Have either of you two gentleman had any problems with the original robbe o rings in these type of kits, as several modellers over here have had water leakage which has since stopped after replacing the robbe o rings, does robbe have a problem with their o rings ..

Yes I did. I now use preservative jar seal in mine with great success. It's soft silicone rubber.
