Hello all, new boy needs help.
« on: November 26, 2008, 08:02:26 pm »

Hi to all,a little bit about my self first, born and bread on the good old Tyne, now living in Yorkshire, last 25 yrs building /flying scale model RC planes, needed a change.
I have built 2 model slipway boats, Range safety and Loyal Fleet Tender.
The problem is i love working with wood and love the old fishing boats i remember from the 70ts at North shields (Tyne) .
What I need to know is, how i read a plan, how do i turn the drawing into frames / keel etc, this i am finding very frustrating, the plan is a stern trawler Aurora , number MM2798 free in Marine Modelling May 2000, I have ply waiting to be cut , but measure twice , cut once? .Many thanks to all.

Check out Bluebird's build of the 1915 Steam Drifter on the Build Masterclasses board. Should answer most of your questions..........and an absorbing way of spending an hour or so as well!
