Im looking for a flag to put on the stern of the fireboat 39 but i have absolutly no idea what flag it should be.  Id like to be as faithfull to the real boat aspossible but since i have never actually seen a picture of the real boat to date its tough.  Its the hampshire fire service if that helps?  Ive been hunting around on the BECC website but there are so many to choose from.

Thanks

Hi,

just a thought, have you contacted the fire brigades museum for relevant info?

At a guess i would think it would fly the Hampshire brigades flag based on the brigade coat of arms...could be wrong but worth a try

Cheers

Hampshire fire brigade dont have a museum as such but I am waiting for a call back from a chap at there headquarters who might be able to help.

Southampton Fire Brigade had a dedicated fireboat station at Royal Pier Southampton

In 1947 the geographical area of Hampshire was known as the County of Southampton.

I have had a reply from a very nice man at Hampshire fire and rescue, who tells me he has masses of information on Fireboat 39.

Unfortunately his historian role has to be carried out in his spare time so it might take a little while to get it to me.

He is going to send photos of the fireboat in its Southampton Fire Brigade Livery and will include photos of fine detail.

If anyone is interested he actually has the original Vosper drawings.

Will let you know what happens. :-))

DickyD thats excellent news!  I had actually given up searching for pictures.  When this nice man gets the photos to you would it be possible for you to post them in here?

Thanks,

Have a look in the Mayhem "Traders Directory" we have a trader there who is also a Mayhem Member who makes flags, names etc to order. Thet are very good as I have bought them in the past.

Sorry cannot remember his name off hand.

Reade Models are major stockists of BECC products.  BECC's policy is that they will produce new flags to be added to the standard range if there is sufficient demand for that flag.  If the Southampton Fire Brigade flag was likely to be a good 'seller' it would be added, providing reproduction rights weren't an issue?

(This is the only enquiry for a Southampton Fire Brigade flag that I've seen in the past 5 years).

BECC do not sell directly to the public in the UK, but will supply internationally where they don't have a distributor in the buyer's location.

So how do i go about getting a one off flag made?  Or is this even possible?

I will check the traders director and see what i come up with.

Thanks
