1/50 Crane
« on: December 08, 2008, 11:18:39 pm »

I'm hoping to build a 1/50 crane, the Atlas 5 ton type or similar. This is intended for an AHTS based on an"Aziz" kit that I'm about to start. I want to fit a "beefier" crane than the one that comes with the kit.  I know Model Slipway do one but it is 1/32.
The only other possibility I've seen is the Robbe one for the Happy Hunter which is 1/50 but is a fairly costly item.
Can any of you give me any ideas on where I might get drawings or parts that would be suitable.
Best Wishes

Hi, thanks for your replies Wilhelm and Martin.
Wilhelm - I would be pleased if you could send me some pictures of your crane, also some measurements of the jib. I have sent you a P.M. with address
Martin - I'm fairly sure that is the Model Slipway 1/32 item. Didn't Gzregorz make a wonderful job of building it. Now if only I could get a drawing ...................

Hi Wilhelm,
thank you very much for the photographs. They will be very useful. That is an impressive Happy Hunter you have there and I'm sure there would be a lot of Forum members who would like to see more of it.

Hi Douglas,
I am glad to hear that you got the pictures and they are helpful to you. I am still very new to this forum and should stay a little more in the background. Iif there is interest in pictures of my "Happy Hunter" let me know and I will post a few. I won't be home for the next seven days or so.

All the Best
Wilhelm

This one is from Conrad, and is more of a "Atlas" type of crane.
She is in scale 1:50, but its not a 5tons crane but a 21tons.
