Oh yes this is definately a popular subject on here ,or it was . Yes you can change the crystals on the reciever and the tranny ,one idea is to buy a set of crystals (odd channels ) the ones used for micro car racers ,cant remember the name but basicly they are rc cars that you buy and upgrade as you wish with lights etc ,any ways there is a pack of crystals  5 i think for less than a fiver thats tx and rx.
As for the price ,i think a new one is about £150. (dont quote me on that) but second hand ones can be had for a third of that £50.

one thing i forgot to mention, they are pretty capable of towing :) I have done 3 events now, including one at the epmbc waters, though i recommend that you modify it as soon as your warranty expires
