Upgrade of a RTR Hydroplane

I have just bought from Howes Models a RTR Speed Storm Hydroplane, it is my intention to upgrade this to 40mhz 2 channel RC, new motors and speed controllers. If anyone out there has already done this or a similar conversion i would be pleased for any suggestions, I have my own ideas but the more the merrier.
When finished I would like to use this for moderately fast racing so I am looking for something fast, Budget around £150

Not having upgraded a RTF Hydroplane but having upgraded a Robbe Unlimited..... don't spend too much
money on the upgrades as the hulls are not that good or rigid! Ie, don't throw good money after bad.
