That's what I meant by "survey"!  %)

I think you need to add options for boat types too Martin then you will get a handle on the absolute Mayhem that the event is likely to  generate.

You still need a poll for the boat type Martin.

Martin, what I meant was to group the models in the way they will be sailed. Warships, Service Craft, Tugs, Lifeboats, Trawlers will all be free sailing models. You need to know what provision to make for the "organised" parts of the event for which you will need to reserve all or part of the lake. For example, (you have already mentioned some):

Springer & Springer Football,
Straight Running,
Club 500 racing heats,
Other electric speed
Warships display.
Tug competition and display, (Towing?)
Footy and Yacht races,
IC boat demo/race (Inc OMRA boats) - probably needs to be Saturday PM from what people have posted
Footy Yacht Race
Steering competition?
Twilight sail past with lights on Saturday evening

All this lot will take up quite a bit of time and space and some, such as the IC boats will need exclusive use of the lake. Whatever time is left over can be devoted to free sailing with a managed frequency board.

You do need a realistic schedule otherwise some people could turn up and find that they can't find a slot to run their boat(s). It may be Mayhem, but you can't afford a free for all like the scrum at a Ryanair Boarding Gate!

I'd hoped to come for the w/e.   That now looks highly unlikely but I intend to try and get over for either Saturday or Sunday.   It's not that far from Southam where nb Virgo moors.   If I make it I'll have the Karoline and steam launch Fair Constance both on 2.4GHz

Cheers

I'm bringing
One "AA class (3.5cc)" OMRA racing boat on 2.4 GHz for the "demo" (how to fit a 43" boat into a Tesco carrier bag)
Two "C class" (15cc) OMRA boats for display only  <:(
Will there be any space in anyone's shelter (I can bring a small table)?

I'm assuming that the IC demo will only be about 10 mins but I'm afraid Colin is right - I wouldn't want to risk any other boats on the water (except Bill and Andy as they are used to lunatic driving)!

I hope to be there ................ I think I know the way now.   ok2

I plan on bringing a few craft, notably, Waverley, Boston Typhoon, WaveSpringerly, and anything else the car will hold.

I'm also hoping to buy a gazebo and portable table and a chair to keep me out of the rain.  :embarrassed:

Unfortunatly, Red Pelican will not be coming as she has been sold to a submarine enthusiast, so I'll have to think of something else to sink. (bring your waders, Phil!) I hope to stay in the hotel that I used last time as the food was delicious and it's quite close.

See you all there

ken

ps  better put me down for three channels on the 40 mhz range.

Hello,

I NEED to know how deep is the water in the pool at Wicksteed.
My Schooner, Bluenose needs at LEAST 18 inches of water to sail in.
Has anybody ever sailed a Marblehead yacht there?, they have a longer keel than the Schooner.
Would any of the local boat Club members be able to help?

John.  :-))  :-))  :-))

You'll have no problems sailing there, when I wade there it comes up above me knees and below the waist (if you get my drift)
Mind you I only wade for Kenny  :-)) :-)) :-))
