it'll be sorted by the time I get to wicksteed.

well to ensure that it doesn't get soaked IN THE TENT this year, I have got an A-frame to go over it, a ray mears job.  5 poles, strung up in an A-frame, tent will go at one end, I will hang the heater off the bamboo a-frame.  that way I'll be able to get some what warm and also have light to read by and do things by.

obvioysly if its a still night, then I won't run the heater, HOWEVER if the wind gets up, then the heater goes on, and because its in the bamboo section, it will be vented safely.  as for the skull and cross, it may well be a table cover.

I much prefer to have a decent sleeping bag...

Having said that I can't wait to have a laugh at your tent...

my sleeping bag came from tesco.

the tent is a 2man (cramped) blue one from lidl,
the tarp will be a rig up to give me extra space.  for the times I use a full size tent, its not worth me buying one, and then there's the matter of storage.

last year I uad it right up against the hedge.  this year will be no different.

That'd be why then, mine came from countryside, is stuffed with polarguard, with a gore tex outer shell...

In the 5 years I've owned it now, I've never had to even bother zipping it up it's so warm, even at the top of mountains in the middle of winter in snow. When coupled with the thermarest roll mat it's better than being in my own bed...

now you see why I wanted a heater in my tent! the water seeped in from the woven floor and the top vent, and the wind howled through the side, the top vent acually sustained damage and now has 3 lugs NOT 4

chingdevil how much was your gazebo's??

Added to the stuff i am bringing down is a small wooden base, 24x18" to put things on inside the tent, so the little cold frame heater will be ideal, , or if i erect the cover, hanging off the bamboo a-frame.  the minivan will be used to block off the top end.

and it WON'T be on OVERNIGHT. just when i want to warm up after getting soaked during the day like last year!!

Old scouting tip - lay a plastic groundsheet under the tent when you pitch it, that way you get no water seepage through the woven floor. These floors in tents are rubbish, so a groundsheet is best. Also adds a little insulation, but not much...

They're too heavy, but if you want some metal pole jobbies, then The North Face do the most superb tent I have ever seen, it's about £500 but well worth it, looks like a lunar lander...

The best stoves I've come across are GoSystem

As regards boats,

Nord Icelandia,
Celestia,
Gemini,

and if the rudders are fixed, Southampton will also be visiting.

As far as performance goes, Nord Icelandia is not in the stavros school of boating, as Gemini on half power (1x Vision 385 motor) can probably pull Nord Icelandia (on full power) backwards, Nord Icelandia has 2x 385's

A couple of IC boats to show, one to run, Higgins Hellcat, converted Kyosho Nitro Viper (now electric), StrongbowSpring, Smit Houston and a plane to demolish in the hands of springers :-)) Oh and the straight runner O0

I may be after one of these here MMB motors for the Viper, to run on about 30 cells...

What's everyone else bringing?
