what would give the longest running time useing a kestral v 4v 12 v motor    6v 4 amp sla or 7.2v3000mah thanks

The SLA, the one with the higher capacity will always have the longer running time. Making sure of course what you are asking from the battery, drawing too much out of an SLA will cause it to not last very long at all

The 6 volt battery will supply less current than the 7.2 volt one.  If they were both the same capacity, this would cause a longer run time.  As it is, the 7.2 volt pack has less capacity, so will not last as long anyway.
Regard the capacity (in Amp-Hours) figure as water in a bucket, regard the current as the rate of flow of water through a hole in the bottom of the bucket.  Then imagine a slightly larger hole in the 7.2 volt bucket.  Which will empty fastest? The bucket with the least water and the biggest hole.
