I have a pair of Msonik Eco RV27 speed controllers. Would these be OK to use in a model Warship with a Hunter Mixer?

These are really car ESCs so they have a few features which you must be aware of when using them in a boat. Make sure you disable the brake and that you set the reverse delay to zero. They are also designed especially for one particular spec of motor (a 27-turn 540), so they may not be compatible if you use a different type (or at least not very efficient).

Also check that the mixer works in the correct "sense" when going astern. Hunter Systems don't list their mixer any more and I had a couple of them a while back which actually worked against  the turn in reverse; I don't know if this was changed on later examples.

There are better alternatives around than this set-up....... ;)

Thanks for that FLJ. I am preparing an unbuilt Sirmar HMS Norfolk for sale & was going to sling in these speed controllers with some radio gear & the mixer but they wouldnt be much use if they arent compatable with the motors.
