Hi Rich
What scale is the motorflote please ?
It looks like a great little kit Andy has made there.
I built one many years ago it was great fun.

Morning Derek,

It's 1/12th scale..small boat, big scale. Ideal for my fingers...

I don't suppose you have any pictures of yours, do you?

No worries Derek,

They are good fun to build and to use, my first one was built double size...it had a mind of it's own and went where it liked...very interesting in a steering regatta!

Here we go then, bit more done this morning despite having hands like rugby balls.

Wiring for the navigation lights is done, and the wires fed down inside plastic trunking as per BSI regulations  %)  and a posh new seat for George to perch his bum on. The glazing for the rear window tucks down behind the trunking, and can be removed should I need to gain access for any reason.

I also had a go at making a searchlamp...it's not pretty, but it works. It's got a 10mm HiViz led inside, so I should be able to see the boat on a night sail.

And the last little bit for today...my fingers have had enough. Door handle, door hinge and grab rails made and fitted. And no, the grab rail by the door isn't crooked, for some reason it just looks that way in the photograph.

Bit of posh bling has just arrived, looks as though the actual operating arm needs a bit of trimming, seems to be a bit long to me.

It's all to do with scale.   %)

Unfortunately, I have found on the larger scales, the gap between sizes really does become apparent.

It would seem that the gap between 1/12th scale and 1/14th scale is bigger than I thought...I had to cut quite a bit out of the arm to make it look any sense. Having done that, I couldn't find a glue that would stick the two parts back together...in the end I had to resort to the good old ''Sticks like S**t'', reinforced with a small piece of heat shrink tubing. By the time it's painted black, I don't think it'll look too bad.

I also had a play about making a monitor to display the local water charts...just needs a frame round it now.
