Little more done, George's posh seat is all sprayed up. Probably well over the top for a utility vessel like a Motorflote, but I think it looks ok.

Keep it going Rich, I find myself chuckling with each post (that's not sarcasm I just find the whole idea different and amusing) square corners and forward motion in water etc. Nice work to.
           Cheers,

 I can see over time this will be come a popular model like the seaport and springer as its a precut easy build that you can add your own embelishments to which comes at reasonable price and is of a size that you can stick in a bag and take to the pond with you.

I'd like to think they could be popular, and Andy (Griggs) would be a happy man too. I've just sold another one (must remember to tell Andy...)

Just in case you were wondering why there's a lack of updates...

The paint I ordered arrived...wrong colour.
The battery packs I ordered...won't be ready until late next week.

I can't fit the deck until the batteries arrive, I can't fit the front cabin panel until the paint arrives, so all I can really do is fiddle about making little odds n' so ends until things turn up.

its missing the little yellow and black hoop - for when the weather gets so bad he can ejector seat out, the ring is about right for a liferaft, but a bit big for a piles cushion (does his bum look big in it  {-))

I asked my lady friend for similar, she told me to go away (or words to that effect at least) and got on with building her narrow boat.  :}

Alas Ned, lady friend is no longer lady friend...so unofficially adopted daughter is being volunteered into making George something more comfortable to slip into..

Still waiting for the battery packs to arrive, so I'm making little odds n' ends. George wanted a rope locker...he got an old plastic fish box with a bent handle and a piece of an old broom handle to support the lid. Tomorrow I'll plank the lid with wooden coffee stirrers.

Oh, and ladyfriend is still ladyfriend...say no more.

Oh, and there may be an all alloy Motorflote coming along...more details on that as and when.

Gave up the idea of planking a piece of styrene, so George's rop locker now has a proper wooden lid...still got the bent handle though. Should look ok with a some varnish and some paint on the box.

I just love making railings...not.  Mind you, it's not too bad a job in this scale. I've run out of wire now, so the skids will have to wait for a bit...I feel a scrounging email to my mate Andy in Bristol coming on....

Battery packs are now installed, wiring tidied up, the deck is glued on, and the pusher knees are now made and temporarily put on just to see if they fit ok. The pusher knees are made from square section styrene with a length of alloy rod inside them. On the outside will go a length of thick rubber strip. The deck edges will be covered with angle section styrene to hide the joins.

Hopefully, fingers crossed, I might be ready to do a bath test tomorrow...
