Right, here we go again...the infamous Motorflote, part 2.

Started on the fitting out of the cab interior, and with that done, I glued the front panel into place. George insisted on helping, although he wasn't tall enough, so I had to find something for him to stand on.

Quick spray job of the front panel in a bit, then I can drop the window glazing panels into position.

Just noticed the post above mine...well done, Jon, and welcome to the Motorflote owners club.  :-))
My first one was double size, and proved to be  a right handful...it had a mind of it's own. I notice you've modified the stern...mine turned perfectly (when it decided to obey a tx command) without any modification.  It remains to be seen how this one behaves when it's let loose in the water.

I really ought to get my skids made up, I guess...Andy ('tattooed' on here) sent me a huge bundle of various wire last week, so there's no excuse for not doing them. Thanks Andy, much appreciated, my friend...

Steven Seagull has finally found a nice comfortable place to perch himself and watch the world go by...and share George's sandwiches.

Got it {-)
When we were wreck sweeping off the Sausage Coast
Working out of New haven, we had a tide gauge on the
pier at Eastbourne and there were a few odd shaped birds
seen around the piano bar on the pier.

More progress on the 'Flote...front cab panel sprayed and fitted. Next up is to fit the glazing panels into the window openings, install the lights, and then the cabin roof.

I think Steven may be getting some company later on...he's lonely there all on his own.   <:(

George is quite happy, he's got the window panels fitted in his cabin at last...although the builders yard did make a bit of a cock with the lighting conduit, so I'm having to redo that...much to my annoyance.  >>:-(

Now for the roof panel and the handrail around the front of the cabin.

Just a quick update on the 'Flote...it's on the back burner for a while, I must get X9 finished and operational for the Norwich Sub Weekend before I continue with it.

But fear not gentlemen, once the X craft is patrol ready, I'll be finishing the Motorflote. As they say in all the best places...''watch this space''.

Ok, Motorflote fans, you've been waiting patiently for this, so here it is....today she got her bum wet for the first time. She's been sat in the bath for over an hour, and I'm pleased to report that she hasn't taken on a drop of water. I did try a brief motive power test, but the batteries need a charge, but she is more than capable of completing a full 360 degree turn in the bath without touching the sides.

What has really surprised me is the amount of weight she's going to need to get her down to the plan water line...she floats well above the water line, so I'm thinking of swapping the battery packs for bigger capacity ones, maybe even putting in a couple of those long gel cells, one each side.

And so..when she's dried off, I'll take a look at getting some more weight into her. But I'm well happy that she floats, and floats dry.

The end is in sight...roof fitted, nav lights on, George is in residence and already feeding the seagull...I need to make a 1/12th scale slice of bread yet.

Rope locker is made, just needs painting. Roof mounted searchlight to do, horns to fit, and a bit more painting to finish off. That's tomorrow's work organised...
