The MotorFlote is now virtually complete...I just have to fit the skids (made today) and tone down the initial weathering application, and finish off a few small spots of painting, and we're done.

As soon as the new car arrives, I can get it in the water for initial tests.

Photos tomorrow morning...

The end...
« Reply #458 on: May 28, 2015, 01:19:18 pm »

Well, boys n' girls...to all intents and purposes, the Motorflote is now completed, just a few little paint touch ups here and there to finish off. Note the new exhaust stack, skids now fitted as well...there is one more seagull coming from Martin at Macs Mouldings, that one will be going on the cab roof, positioned to grab a chunk of George's sandwich, but apart from that...she's done.

Thanks to everyone on here who contributed valuable advice, comments and criticisms when I asked, and especially for all the humour during the build.

Special thanks to Netley Ned, IanPAL, Tattooed, Martin and Kenny for putting up with me, Macs Mouldings, Dave @ Action, and of course...Andy and Debbie at MBD for cutting the kit out for me.

Thanks to you all...I wouldn't have completed it without you.

Oh, one more thing...George says to say 'Thank You' for making him a celebrity, autographs will be available later.

Hi,

That has been one massive build with a lot of funny comments along the way.

But the finished model is a credit to you.

Well done Sir

Thank you gents...it's been fun, believe it or not. I reckon it would make a good book...or a film. There again..maybe not.  ;D

I keep looking at that weathering I've done though, I'm not happy with it...I feel a redoing coming on...needs toning down, I think.

Ned...George did insist on having a Union Jack sticker on the cab front. He doesn't drink Bells...foolish fellow.

RE: Oh, one more thing...George says to say 'Thank You' for making him a celebrity, autographs will be available later.
Maybe George and Steven should ave their own "Face book" page to  record their adventures on.. O0

Love your wee tug, magic.
Maybe you could manage one of these, for the Motorflote.

Steven's cousin (Simon) has just flown in after hearing rumours that George's sandwiches were quite tasty...

If George is so keen on feeding the seagulls, you will have to "weather" with some runny white splodges!  %)
