Forget this one at your peril!

What should I buy her? and what are you buying for your swmbo?

Buy her a set of plans for a boat, tell her the boats name is Valentine. If/when swmbo gets stuck, you step in and get another boat to add to your fleet. After all, it's the thought that counts !  :-)) {-)

She is going to get the same thing from me as she has had for the last 30 odd years,  NUFFING absolutely nothing.   Same as birthdays and anniversary's but I do make the effort at xmas.    Low maintenance stuff, its great.

I'm with Taxi on this one - married 36 years and never bothered with all the commercialised "must buy for this day, must buy for that day" etc...Once a year is quite enough, if I ever fancy flowers for swmbo I'll buy when I feel the need, not because it's National (whatever) Day >>:-(

Well said Capt, but I must confess that at some time or other I have weakened and bought the odd box of choc's and even more rarely a flower or two.

... the trouble is, if you buy her flowers she`ll ask: What have you done wrong/ broken/ are you cheating? Buy her a ring, she`ll ask: Did you`ve got a salary increase? Buy her pralinès you`ll hear: You want me to ruin my figure? And if you buy nuffink it`s: Don`t you love me anymore?
Whatever you do, it`ll be wrong. So if being wrong, try to keep in mind that doing nothing and not to go into that commercial hype ist at least the best way to safe money.
But SWMBO will find a way to blame it on you- so nevermind and you`ll find out you will sleep wonderfull at night as well.  {-)

Well said taxi, I've never bothered in 30+ years and neither has the good lady, if we want to go out for a meal we go, if she wants flowers she buys them, if I want a pint I offer to take her for a drink, I drive there she drives home.

I'm stumped on this one. last year she got an electronic parking clock (required by law in DK) as she had just got a perking ticket 'cause she forgot to put the time right. Year befor that an angle grinder..... This year? Nerve pills! The 14th is the last day that we will be allowed to smoke at work even out doors! So I am going to be a pain in the  ;D and she is going to be going through hell when we come home (we work at the same place). Good news is there is a week until her birthday afterwards.

Ive told her I am taking her away this weekend to the coast ,accommodation is booked and I will take her out to a fish restaurant over looking the sea----hows that for romantic -- impressive aye!----- :embarrassed:

Hold on lads  before you all stick your fingers down your throats ---this really translates to taking the carvan to Brighton for the weekend to go to the model show then fish and chips in the restaurant on the pier !.
My wife wont go to the show so I will have to give her a fair bit of money to go clothes shopping with!

Probably see some of you there?

Paul.

Flying to Shanghai to do some shopping. No doubt including a trip to M&S for some Per Una.

I can also feel a new radio TX coming on. ;)

My wife gets the biggest card in the shop, normally about three x two feet.
I find they are ideal for making patterns for side and bottom skins and frames, on my model boats.
