Free model boats
« on: February 12, 2009, 10:13:02 pm »

Anyone seen the offer inside this weeks Radio Times? (UK Magazine)
Theres a leaflet offering two die cast ships...HMS Hood and Bismark..for £2.99 said to be worth £29.98.
I can't see a catch, but maybe they will send more at the full price to be returned or paid for...
It says no risk.pay nothing now, no more to buy, no club to join  etc.
Cancel within ten days....... but I can't find what you cancel....

Any ideas....I think I might send off and see....

The radio times is pretty reputable.. is it from them or an advert?

It is probably one in a collectables series.
Like the porcelan dolls, and pottery cats, and teaspoons.

If it is..The first one or two come at 2.99. The rest would then presumably be 29.99.

I think they did this with trains a few years back - got a nice model from them, then cancelled any further   <*<

Hood and Bismarck arrived today at my English address, courtesy of La Poste!

I haven't a Navis or Viking model to compare them with, but the quality seems very good for the price. Subsequent models will be £14.99 + £2.99 P & P, still seems good value.

Now I have to read the small print to see if I can get just the models I want, PoW and Ark Royal are coming soon, and not the whole lot from other navies...

I think it is about that long since I ordered them, Dan.

Mine arrived within 4 weeks.  Both models looked good until I put my specs on.  Not too impressed then.  Superstructure
had a very heavy list on one model.  Some of the smaller guns also lopsided.  Gap between hull sections at bow of Bismark.
Hood had three props of one hand, one of the other.  I'm splitting hairs here.

Yes, I know I shouldn't complain, not at the price they were anyway, but a bit more care during assembly would have made
a big difference.  Very good apart from the above.

Included with mine were leaflets offering these two ships FREE plus a free DVD, watch and a £7 voucher towards the cost of                 P of W's,  if placing further orders.  I think I'll just pay for the first two and forget the rest of the series.
