No, sorry it isn't, 35mhz is not legal in boats.

And those 2.3GHz sets are pretty hard to come by too...

(couldn't help myself when I read that...)

And before you ask Marco, no, I'm afraid you can't convert your 35Mhz set to 40Mhz. Best to sell it and buy a legal one.

Have a look on the Mayhem sales page.

There is a super, unused Spectrum set at a bargain price. Better be quick it is bound to be snapped up.

not wanting to nit pick Colin but i converted my 35mhz tranny to 40mhz , easy i just changed the module (Hitec eclipse 7) :P .
Then again looking at your reply to the question you probably know what the radio is been discussed  :-) .
On the side of caution Marco your radio will transmit over 1km + and thats a lot of ground to cover and air , i tought it would be safe to use mine in the local park when flying a foamy and afterwards realised how far my signal would travel , it was picked up by some other flyers ove 2km away on their signal meter freq checker .

Yes, you are right Daz - I was generalising a bit there, some radios can be converted. But as you say, this entailed swapping out a module rather than just putting in a new set of crystals.

Swapping a TX module is OK.  Changing components is not.  Transmitters come with a compliance sticker indicating that the manufacturer has paid for and got type approval, and is indemnified against prosecution arising from accidents.  A private individual is not.
The RX is in effect the module.  It has to conform to corresponding requirements to the TX, but if it fails to perform properly after modding, its just your problem and your model at risk.
