Following my success in my previous thread here about turning a standard servo into a winch, my next question is, can I build something to slow down the servo, I want to use it as a winch to lower a boat into the water, and at the moment it goes far too fast. I know Ripmax do one, but it's £12.99 and I dont have any money...

Action do a unit called the Servomorph which does exactly this - but they do want some money for it.... Still, it's cheaper than the Ripmax one and you do get an extra 5% off as a Mayhem member.

If you just want to use it as a geared motor, then remove the electronics from the servo and directly connect the motor to a lower voltage to slow it down.
