Hull doors on working boat
« on: February 25, 2009, 08:07:51 pm »

Hi, as a keen fisherman i intend to build my own bait boat !
however instead of the normal all black sleek monsters knocking about i want to build something different,
i'm thinking some kind of scale model of a working boat, but am wondering if i can incorporate a feature such as doors in the bottom of the hull ( possibly some kind of dredger ? }
into the model for my bait hopper .
does anyone have any ideas, everthing welcome

Bait boats are banned on the water i fish, but i have thought about converting 1 of the full size plastic swans my mum has in her garden in to a bait boat.  {-)

Havent got swan or duck to try idea out but cut around wings build half barrel containers and hinge at lowest position where wings were then hinge wings at forward point so they open like some sports cars doors attach twine to flight feather ends and to top of barrel when wings lift (via servo) twine will pull barrel to the tip position and empty bait, then when wings go down barrels return to inside of duck/swan and you sail away

just an idea but if I had duck or swan I would have a go

what about a duck towing a duckling behind it, via a straight shaft of some kind, use a servo to turn the shaft and duckling 180 degrees, cut the duckling in half horizontally and hinge, so when it turns over lid opens, bait out.
would this work.

Something like this could be converted into a bait boat.

R,
Once (long ago) I saw one of our AB's win a bet regarding ducks. He postulated that ducks could't digest pork fat and so the fat more or less went straight through them. He proved it by tying a bit of pork fat to a length of string. Finished up with 6 ducks sort of tied together....just thought I'd mention it. BY.
