Warning...if you see a dead animal, leave it well alone, you don't half stink when they go "POP" all over you!

...which reminds me of my days of archaeology. A friend of mine was working on a cemetary near Dover. They uncovered a lead-lined coffin of some considerable weight, found in a pit of plague victims who may well have died of anthrax - this is a spore with a very long latency period, and therefore risky to excavate. As a result of this, all the team had to wear gloves, masks and disposable boiler suits.

A crane was called in.

As the coffin was lifted, about ten feet above the ground, and surrounded by archaeologists, it split open, showering the lot of them with potentially toxic, liquified and putrescent ex-Roman.

The smell was, by all accounts, revolting. A bonfire of safety gear was made in about 2 seconds flat, and the showers ran all night.  {-)

Just found more 202 ammo on the shore from the Exploded Ammo ship sunk at tranmere
