Mines kitted out the spare bedroom as a work room complete with TV, CD player and radio, fridge, shelving and a bench and fans.

She's financed my boat building, 10 boats in the last 3 years.

Takes me to the lake and wades in to launch my boats (and hers)

Pushes me everywhere in a wheelchair (280 lbs no light weight)

Waits on me hand and foot, works 5 or 6 full days a week, Walks the dog twice a day (5.30am and 6.30 pm)

And she still stays cheerful.

Knew I'd get it right second time around.  :-))

Shouldn't this topic be renamed "My Wife" instead of "The Wife"....?

Your wife then Richard - "The Wife" smacks of chauvinism.

A chap in our village had the habit of refering to his missus as 'the wife'. It drove her nuts. One night, in the pub, after introducing her to a bunch of strangers in his usual style, she finally cracked. "My name is Tina, you moron! We have been married eight years and you still think I'm just a trinket, only here to massage your ego!".
He went bright red, everyone in the pub applauded, and Tina and Mr chauvinistic ended up divorcing shortly after.

DickyD has gotta be the master of one-liner's. I loved his little "I don't even know her" quip.   :}

Of course I read your post Richard  :-). I was simply referring to the phrase "The Wife". As PMK says, most women don't like it, and with good reason.
