Hi All,
I have been posting questions about the power for this model so thought a few pics and a brief history might whet some appetites.
This model was started some 16 yrs ago. The first hull was scrapped as it was warped, so the builder started all over again.
This is obviously a labour of love as some of the detail is absolutely superb!!
Unfortunately the builder passed away with the hull complete and quite a lot of the superstructure part built.
The hull we wrapped in bedspreads and put in the garage and the superstructure packed in boxes for just over 10 yrs.
I bought her unseen, on some 15 yr old photos.
Ripped my car out and went to collect her (the hull is just over 10 foot long).
When I got her home and all unpacked there was some damage to running gear and hull and of course the superstructure parts. G. Sitek made a new Prop and supplied a new shaft as the props were original Ted radestock's. Superb job too!!
I have been working on her for a year now on and off.
The hull has been repaired, repainted and the decks rubbed down and re-varnished, so back to where she was 10 yrs ago, but in different colours.
The superstructure is plasticard and has started to go brittle, but is in the process of being repaired and completed ( only started that yesterday ).
Hope you like the pics.
