ode to the model room by Mrs Bluebird :-)
« on: March 11, 2009, 07:37:40 pm »

There are plans and bits upon the floor
Lots of wood chippings - isn’t that what a model room is for?
I go on me knees and me knees are sore
To pick up any ‘wanted’ bits – I find bits galore!

The vacuum in here is totally not allowed
And when you get the duster it causes a cloud
Who threw away all me bits of plastic
And we knew fine well he wanted that elastic!

There is glue stuck to me brand new mat
I wouldn’t mind but it even covers the cat
His models are camouflaged
with a fine layer of grit
Sanding away in his own little pit

Resin and fibreglass smell fill the air
It hovers round the house
And down the old stair
Nothing will rid you of it - even in me hair
But he calmly says it won’t long be there

So oh to the model room
With cup stain rings and pieces of wood
He’s very quiet
He must be up to no good!

At least when he is modelling
His face is contented
But all of this dust has me demented
I’m glad he isn’t a farmer
Covering the place with cow doddles
Cos its this little room
That stores all the models

So all of you people who complain about boats
Thank the dear Lord he doesn’t keep goats!!!

Bluebird that is far too disturbingly accurate and obviously Mrs Bluebird has inside information on what we get up to.  I'll now have to make sure Mrs Bunkerbarge does not get to read this otherwise the cat will really be out of the bag.

Great stuff though, please pass on our thanks!

Ha !!!! it can't apply to me, cos I'm not like that
My glue is in pots and not on the cat
The hoover is here and its used
Oh no its not I pinched the fuse

And when I sand, I always sweep up
Well most of it landed in the old coffee cup
The fibre Glass is now dry and doesn't smell
While setting in the kitchen--I did get hell

And all the bits that cover the floor
I know they're there and what they're for
They make look old and pulped wood chip
But do believe me, they're my next ship

So while I sit and ponder life
Thankful I have an understanding wife
I've got glue in my hair and paint on the front mat
I suddenly reflect--my god I am like that
 :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)

"WELL DONE" to me for tidying, cleaning, and reorganizing my cubby hole LAST week.   :-))
No need for Mrs B to pay a surprise visit now.  :-)

Johnnie my old bluebird,
I think Shakespeare and Burns will be turning in their graves over that slice of Geordie poetry!

see you at Temple Park.
