Looking for Info on a ship called  Chevalier   Sunk off the River Plate (Buenos Aires) in 1869 -- A friend of mine's Great Grandfather George Fitzsimons was Her Master and was lost when she sank, He's looking for any infomation he can get ,
But Mainly
1) Cause of sinking
2) Type of Ship (Probably a sailing ship given the Date but what type ie: Ship ,Barque Barquetine. Schooner etc;)
3) Date of sinking
4) Any other relevent info.gratefully received

Other ships Capt Fitzsimons sailed were;
 BELL 1855-6 W.I & S.A ....MALDON 1857=8 Aust. ...PERSIAN 1858-9 E.I. (East Indes)....CONCORDIA 1859 E.I.....BERBICE 1860 W.I..... AMELIA 1860-1 S.A.....       
SIR, ROBERT CAMBELL 1862 W.I. ....VETUS 1863 N.A. ....WILLIAM VAIL 1863 N.A.....ANNA 1864-5 E.I..... ESTELLE 1865-6 U.S.....MEDWAY 1866-8 E.I.
CHEVALIER 1868--Sunk off River Plate 1869 Capt Fitzsimons Died at sea when the ship was lost..

Any Info on any of these ships very welcome.
