Now that should make an impressive flotilla.

Can we see the models a bit closer?  1/200th should give plenty of scope for some decent detail and a stable enough model on the water.

Why did you choose the single rudder for the Tirpitz but the twin set up for the Bismarck?

well i did want to make a large bismarck but decided to use up my spares.i have a 1/200 bismarck plan and the tirpitz seemed the way to go i had struggled to get two rudders working in a small hull so i decided as they were out of sight it wouldnt matter. i could show you more detail but im not that good at intricate work there is my bismarck on this site if you care to look im quite happy that the ships will look o.k. on the water      http://www.bismarck-class.dk/shipmodels/german_models/bismarckwoodward.html     my tirpitz has only one motor water cooled which i thought i would try.if you would like to know more feel free to ask.     pete

Looks like you've made very good progress, if this model was a bare hull last month!

I may be building a R/C Tirpitz myself in the future, though rather smaller in size, I've bought one of the cheap RTR 1/350 Bismarcks and am intending to combine it with the superstructure, turrets + detail parts from an old Tamiya Tirpitz kit I built years ago. It makes a change from Bismarck and I like the paint scheme!
