Laser - Should I
« on: March 26, 2009, 12:43:36 pm »

Hi

I purchased the Laser last summer with every intention of joining a local club and learning how to sail. Well it didn't happen despite my buying a simulator and imagining  :o

Never actually joined a club deciding instead to stay with my radio controlled planes - apologies

I'm still in two minds about selling it as I'm not sure if there's much of a market for it

I have:-

The Rc Laser boat itself, all the radio gear, sails rudder dagger board mast & boom.
The sails, called a B rig and a C rig, the Laser stand and a padded blue bag with 'Laser' on it !

What can anybody tell me ?

Many thanks
Roger

Roger,

Do yourself a favour and don't sell it, instead take it to any pond and
sail it you will learn to control it quite quickly, and the more you sail
the better you will become, and the relaxed enjoyment factor is the
biggest bonus. SAIL not sell and enjoy..........

Yes build and sail it, you never know, you might really like and take to it.
( Don't sell it, you never get your money back at the moment!)

The Laser is quick to assemble at the lakes side and will sail well in nearly all winds from the lightest of breezes to winds you would not want to be out in. She is very forgiving for the novice such that you will soon learn to sail.

Have a go, I did just that and learnt a lot in a very short time.

After a few sails you will want to replace the batterries with rechargeable cells.

You don't need to jhoin a club to learn how to sail.

Many people enjoy the switch from air to sailing, as it is a more relaxed form of RCing
