Very fine model, well done.  Can we have a little detail of plans, scale, construction methods etc., please?

But you need some fish in those boxes! I have heard of folk using long grain rice to represent fish but I guess painting each grain silver and putting in the eyes make take a while!

There has been a discussion in the Forum before about making fish, try a search.

Try Macs Mouldings.  I think he makes some fish boxes with lifelike fish in them......

Roger the hull plan came from the Scottish Fishing Museum in Anstruther, it was for the 'Provider'KY201.all the rest wheelhouse winch etc came from photos and memory, the plan was modified a bit, being made finer at the stem and taken in a bit on the quarters,the hull is made plank on frame. the planks come from ex venetian blind strips, there is a shop in the village that kindly lets me have the left over strips. the things bought for this model is the prop. anchor and bottlescrews. the fish boxes on deck were used for gutting the catch , I would need to set up the trawl and put some men on deck to make it look right.

Her lines are great, the changes you made are well worthwhile. I have a plan of a similar vessel sitting in my drawer - been there 30+ years! One day, one day.

Is there a name to the plans you have Roger?, actual plans of specific boats circa50s/60s are like hens teeth, thats the reason most of the boats I build are named/numbered from old family owned boats ,but not the actual boats, it's so long ago and there are so few photos  from the 40s'/50s, .

You encouraged me to get the plan out! A bit crisp and yellowing now.

She is "MFV Eileen" designed by S. Jewitt, plan issued by The Model Maker Plans Service ref: MM737.

No dimensions on the plan but she measures 720mm by 200 mm and 495mm to the tip of the foremast. The scale is given as 1/2" to 1'.

That one sounds interesting Roger, it's more the original boatyard plans that I'm looking for, when all the older yards closed down they were either dumped or burnt, the one that I used for the hull of this model had been rescued out of a skip by the Anstruther museum people, it's a shame really all that history being chucked away.

Only just noticed I've got the wrong name on her , as can be seen in the photos she's the Ben Alisky, named after a hill in Caithness the Eastward is posted on here already, sorry for that
